The Library collects and preserves over 30,000 volumes of printed material relating to Sheffield and the surrounding area including; Telephone Directories 1960 onwards, Electoral Registers since 1843, Trade Directories from 1774, Newspapers since 1787 and much more. Staff are available to advise and help people who are unable to visit the library. They will try to answer enquiries received by post, telephone or E-mail, but unfortunately are unable to undertake lengthy research.Sheffield Archives
